Amanda Jacobson
MA, RYT, LPC, CAADC
I’m Amanda—a West Michigan transplant from Metro Detroit. My calling as a counselor of mental health came after initially studying to be a counselor of law. After switching gears, I found that my ability to hold space for others on a path of healing and transformation led me to become a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Yoga Teacher.
I believe that counseling is experiential, and that clients will gain self-awareness and understanding through therapeutic work and practice. My role as a counselor is to provide guidance and support alongside one’s journey of healing and self-discovery. I work within the theoretical approach that individuals are the best experts of their own truth. I encourage my clients to communicate their insights on improving their own lives and utilizing their strengths, while I provide an empathetic, approachable, and open-minded space.
I also understand that what one person may be struggling with affects other people and systems—like families, work environments, and relationships. Because all of these aspects are intertwined, I utilize holistic and sustainable approaches to manage the entire self. I have helped a wide variety of individuals accomplish personal growth like recovery from substance abuse, mental health healing, and strength through the mind-body-spirit perspective. I believe we all have the capacity to manifest and achieve the changes we want to see in our lives. By being courageous enough to ask for help and seek support, we can equip ourselves for the process and journey of transformation.

I strive to unite the practice of physical self-care with
